Chaconne

Using as its harmonic basis a constantly repeating 8-bar chord pattern (hence, Chaconne), this single-movement, elegiac, and lovely treatment is a combination of interwoven constantly shimmering wind lines with ethereal percussion and keyboard (synthesizer and piano) effects. Solo parts are cued in several other instruments. The result is a stunningly moving musical experience. From the composer of Courtly Airs and Dances and Savannah River Holiday, among many other great works, this is a memorable and moving contribution to the band repertoire.
